have found any good in it, give God the glory, “for
‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of
your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring’”
(Acts 17:28). “I am the vine; you
are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that
bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing”
(John 15:5). The defects are entirely mine. This is not merely a
formal show of piety; my gracious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
answered many prayers concerning this book for wisdom and help. And,
we know that only the Holy Spirit gives understanding of the Holy
